Veteran Ronnie Alcano likewise created a major stir by beating three-time US Champion and World No. 3 Shane Van Boening, 5-3, in a match that ended prematurely.

With Alcano leading, 5-3, and Van Boening about to sink the “10” ball to narrow the gap, Van Boening made a foul shot by not signaling the pocket where he will sink the last ball. Upset and furious with his own rules infraction, Van Boening surrendered the match and later accepted his fault. He was relegated to the losers’ bracket.

Wat een klucht daar... In het artikel is het precies alsof SVB een geweldige fout maakt. Hij pot eerst alle ballen en als hij dan een voor de hand liggende 10 pot, is het ineens drama bij de ref.

De organisatie heeft zich officieel geëxcuseerd bij svb heb ik net gelezen, het had niet mogen gebeuren. De score is dan ook aangepast naar 5-4 ipv 6-3. Nu niet dat svb er iets mee is voor die match en dat tornooi, maar het is wel iets principieels...
